Denture Problems During Hospital Stays

Denture issues are one of the most common dental problems we see in hospital patients. During a hospital admission, dentures can be damaged, become ill-fitting due to weight loss or tissue changes, or simply be lost. Without functioning dentures, patients struggle to eat, which directly impacts their nutrition, recovery, and wellbeing.

Our mobile dental team visits hospital wards across Leeds and Yorkshire to repair, adjust, reline, or replace dentures — ensuring patients can eat comfortably and maintain their dignity during their hospital stay.

Services We Provide

Denture repairs: Cracked bases, broken clasps, or missing teeth on dentures can often be repaired quickly. We assess the damage at the bedside and arrange repair — sometimes same-day with our priority laboratory service.

Denture relines: When dentures become loose due to weight loss, tissue shrinkage, or changes during illness, a reline restores the fit. We take impressions at the bedside and return the relined dentures within days.

Denture adjustments: Sore spots, rubbing, and discomfort from dentures can be relieved with chairside adjustments during our visit.

Emergency denture replacement: When dentures are beyond repair or have been lost entirely, we can begin the process of making new dentures at the hospital, taking impressions at the bedside.

If a patient on your ward has a denture problem, call us on 0113 833 2782. We’ll discuss the issue, arrange a visit, and coordinate with your team on timing. We provide written notes for the patient’s medical records and can liaise with the patient’s family regarding consent and payment.
